Silverado Stages, with 6 locations in California, is a federally licensed motor carrier (US DOT #388417 and ICC MC #230881) and operates as a Public Stage under California DOT authority (PSC/TCP #9069). We are additionally certified as a US Department of Defense motor carrier to provide transportation for the military and by the CHP as a SPAB (School Pupil Activities Bus) operator. These latter two certifications are well in excess of DOT requirements and involve extensive review of our drivers, records, operations and maintenance procedures and periodic inspection of our terminals, vehicles and compliance.
Silverado Stages was founded in 1987 and has had a most diverse background in passenger operations, including charters, local and multi-state over-the-road tours, scheduled fixed routes, contract shuttles and ADA services. We have worked with all levels of government, business, private parties and military. Now operating a diverse fleet of over 120 passenger vehicles, over 40 of which are ADA compliant, and operating throughout the western states, we are one of the largest privately owned bus operators based in the west. We currently operate from terminals in San Luis Obispo, Sacramento, Santa Barbara, Pomona and Santa Ana. We are proud of our ability to adapt to new opportunities and to exceed our customers’ needs and expectations.

Our corporate management, compliance, safety, risk management, marketing, technical support, IT, finance, accounting, HR and administrative staff are located at our San Luis Obispo headquarters. We also host our 24/7 Central Dispatch/Client Services unit at San Luis Obispo. Each of our Bus Terminals are managed by a Director of Operations who is responsible to direct local staff hiring, training and to provide direction for drivers, maintenance, cleaners, field supervisors, schedulers and office administration.

Jim Galusha – Chairman
Mr. Galusha has been Chairman of the Board since 2003 and has been responsible to direct its success and growth from a single location to one of the largest private bus companies in California. His prior business experience includes President and CEO, Quest Transportation, Inc., a motorcoach charter and tour business; President and CEO of Pacific Air Taxi; and President of Sports World Management.
Sharron Galusha – President
Mrs. Galusha is the majority stockholder of Silverado Stages, Inc. (qualifying Silverado Stages as a Woman Owned Business) and has been the President since 2003. Mrs. Galusha has over 20 years’ experience in all aspects of financial management, accounting, HR/personnel management and data processing.
John Busskohl – CEO
John has 24 years experience as an executive in the passenger transportation business where he has successfully driven business and built value. He has overseen transportation companies varying in size from $27 million and 250 employees to $150 million and 1300 employees with fleet sizes ranging from 160 to 850 vehicles that include all types of vehicles including motorcoaches. He has previous transportation management experience with Ryan’s Express, Keolis Transit America, Formerly Tectrans, as a Chief Operations Officer and Coach America, formerly Coach USA as the West Region Vice President and Vice President of Sales. John is a graduate of Iowa State University.
Mike Watson – CMO
Mike Watson has over thirty years passenger transportation management experience in shuttle, tour, charter, transit/paratransit and contract transportation/operations. Mike previously was Vice President, Sales & Marketing of Bauer’s Intelligent Transportation and Managing Director of El Camino Trailways; both San Francisco Bay Area based shuttle and motorcoach operators. He was a Director of the Trailways National Transportation System and headed the Trailways Marketing Council and Strategic Planning committee. Mike is a Mechanical Engineering graduate of the University of California at Berkeley and a registered Professional Engineer.
Susan Schmidt – CFO
Susan has been with Silverado Stages since 2003. She brings with her a broad range of skills in all aspects of financial and accounting management. She has over 25 years’ experience as a financial executive and manager, and has worked in a variety of industries, including manufacturing, engineering, construction, and other service-related industries. Prior to joining Silverado, Susan has held positions of CFO for Advanced Photonix, Inc., a publicly-traded optoelectronics company and Director of Finance for a San Luis Obispo-based engineering and construction firm. Susan holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in Accounting.
John Langley – COO
John serves as Chief Operating Officer for Silverado, managing Regional Operations, Fleet, and corporate Safety and Compliance. His professional experience includes service as Safety Compliance Manager for a statewide fleet of 100+ motorcoaches, Las Vegas Terminal Manager for a national fixed route bus operator, and Director of Investigations for a Washington DC firm specializing in IP protection. He holds national and state certifications as a Director of Safety, Security Instructor and for OSHA, FMCSA and DOT training. John received a B.S. degree in Criminal Justice/Political Science from Simon Fraser University.
Aron Clark – Fleet Director
Aron has been employed with Silverado Stages since 2000 and is responsible for fleet condition, compliance and quality control for all of Silverado’s passenger vehicles in all locations. He previously worked as Chief Mechanic for Laidlaw Transit Services, where he maintained a fleet of 40 vehicles including Gilligs, Orions, National, and Ford vans in five area facilities and provided support to remote facilities in Poway and Los Angeles.
Christian Pereira – Director of Operations-Central California
Christian has been employed with Silverado Stages since 2007 and has seven years of prior experience in transit and employee shuttle, charter, and paratransit operations. His involvement in daily operations includes the 24/7 supervising the Central Control Center (GPS tracking, dispatchers, schedulers and coordinating drivers, buses, and routes).
Tip Thompson – Director of Operations-Northern California
Tip manages operations for the San Francisco Bay Area, Sacramento and the Tahoe Basin and has been with Silverado Stages since 2010. He was previously employed by the University of California at Davis with responsibility for the campus-wide car pool, VanPool and campus-wide Shuttle Service. He is a licensed driver and has extensive experience driving and providing training and supervision to drivers across a broad range of transportation services.
Cory Medigovich – Digital Marketing Manager
Cory is responsible for all of Silverado Stages Digital and Print Marketing as well as company PR. This includes driving new customer inquires to our sales team. With a background in Salesforce he is currently working implementation of Coach Manager software as well as Salesforce CRM. Previously Cory was Sr. Marketing Analyst for Highmark in Pittsburgh and a Project Manager for DenMat in Santa Maria. Cory received a B.S in Marketing from Fresno State in 2007 and a MBA from there in 2014.
Jennifer Werkowski – Compliance & Risk Management
Jennifer has had a fifteen year career in transportation in airlines, trucking and bus operations. She is responsible for safety, regulatory compliance and risk management for Silverado Stages and is expert in Cal OSHA and DOT regulations and practices.
Robert Stuart – Senior Driver Trainer/Road Supervisor
Bob has over fifty years Motorcoach and Transit bus experience, including employment with Silverado Stages since 2004. His previous experience includes five years as Terminal Manager for Laidlaw and President/Owner of Redwood Empire Lines offering scheduled service, charters and contract operations. Bob provides field supervision and paratransit/driver training.
Roschelle Ayonayon – Contract Manager
Roschelle has been a member of the Silverado Stages Contract Management team since 2010. During this time, she has been responsible for the operation of shuttle contracts with John Wayne Airport, Aerospace International, Orange County Fair, CSU San Bernardino, Cal Poly Pomona and Cal State Long Beach. Before joining Silverado, she was a HR Supervisor and Customer Service Representative for Roadrunner Shuttle. She received a B.S. in Project Management from ITT Technical Institute.
